The incident was reported June 28th by a rural Olmsted County homeowner.

The woman saw the driver of a vehicle take a $50 gift card from her mailbox. The homeowner followed the thief in her car and was able to get the license plate number of the vehicle. She was also to get a good description of the thief.

The woman returned home and called 911. The responding deputy checked and learned the vehicle was registered to Clemens. The deputy also showed the homeowner a picture of Clemens and the woman said “the person she saw driving the vehicle looked very similar and that it could be the same person.”

Two other deputies went to the suspect’s Oronoco-area home and spotted the vehicle that the victim had pursued. They also talked to Clemens and noted the clothing she wearing matched the description given by the victim.

Clemens has been ordered to make her first court appearance next month.

She is still on probation for a 2019 mail theft conviction.

She was first arrested in 2018 and placed on probation.
