The latest Associated Press Minnesota High School football rankings are out, and now two teams in Southeast Minnesota find themselves at the top of the rankings, while a total of 10 teams cracked the Top 10.

Blooming Prairie held on to the #1 spot in Class AA, while Cannon Falls took over the #1 spot in Class AAA. Lake City, Rushford-Peterson, Lanesboro, and LeRoy-Ostrander all moved up in the rankings.

Verndale takes the top spot as the new #1 team in the state in 9-man football after LeRoy-Ostrander took down Mountain Lake Area last week. The Cardinals also found themselves ranked at #10 after their win. Lanesboro also bumped up to #3 after a shutout over Houston last week. Spring Grove fell from the Top 10 after a tough loss to Grand Meadow. Both teams received votes in this week's rankings.

Class A High School Football Rankings

There is a new #1 team in Class A as Murray County Central takes the top spot as Mahnomen-Waubun dropped its first game of the season. Rushford-Peterson is 4-0 on the year, and after a nice win over Wabasha-Kellogg the Trojans find themselves up to #9 in the rankings. They are the lone team in Southeast Minnesota to receive votes in Class A.

Class AA High School Football Rankings

Blooming Prairie is still in the top spot in the rankings, followed by Blue Earth Area. The two teams are both in Section 2, which could make for a very exciting Section Final if the two teams continue their winning ways. Chatfield was ranked #8 last week and took down St. Charles 37-6. However, they fell from the rankings as Osakis jumped in at #10. The Gophers did receive votes and take on Class AAA's #1 ranked Cannon Falls Friday night.

Class AAA High School Football Rankings

Cannon Falls jumped up to #1 in the state behind a strong 54-7 win over Zumbrota-Mazeppa last week. Lake City followed at #2 after taking down Plainview-Elgin-Millville 13-7 last week. The Bombers and Tigers are scheduled to meet up for the last game of the regular season. PEM is still in the Top 10, sliding in at #8.

Class AAAA High School Football Rankings

Becker takes the top spot from Hutchinson after Becker took down Hutchinson at home 21-12. Stewartville stayed steady at #5 after a 28-20 win over Byron. The Bears may be 0-4, but their first four games were against teams that were all ranked in the Top 10 at one point this season (Kasson-Mantorville, Faribault, Winona, Stewartville). That is about as difficult of the first half of the season as you can have, and Byron was in every game. Kasson-Mantorville moved up to #7 with a win over Albert Lea. Faribault and Albert Lea received a vote, too.

Class AAAAA High School Football Rankings

Mankato West has been ranked #1 all season long and remains the #1 team in the state in Class AAAAA. They have a tough matchup this week as they host #6 ranked Rochester Mayo who is also 4-0. The Spartans are coming off a big win over cross-town rival John Marshall 53-6.
