The #4 seeded Fillmore Central Falcons got rolling early in each set to help propel them to a 3-0 sweep over the #5 seeded Spring Grove Lions Thursday night in Harmony.

The Falcons jumped out to leads of 7-3, 9-2 and 7-3 in each set to help control the set en route to the sweep. The early leads came from great defense from the Falcons, and some great hitting from Kandace Sikkink, Lauren Mensink and Hadley Yoder.

The Falcons took set one 25-16, set two 25-14 and set three 25-17. The Spring Grove Lions struggled to get their offense in rhythm, but did a good job defensively, chasing down volleyballs all over the floor and getting them back into play. Yet, the Falcons were able to keep the ball out of Amelia Solum and Addyson McHugh's hands, which slowed down the Lions attack.

The Falcons were balanced, getting at least five kills from Mensink, Yoder, Sikkink, Krista Jorgenson and Kammry Broadwater.

The balanced attack led the way to get the Falcons to the semifinals on Saturday morning. Fillmore Central will take on #1 Mabel-Canton at 10am. We will have the action on 103.1 KFIL.
