The Mabel-Canton Cougars fell in a hard-fought battle against the defending Section 1A Champion Medford Tigers, 3-2 Saturday afternoon at the Mayo Civic Center.

The #4 seeded Fillmore Central Falcons got rolling early in each set to help propel them to a 3-0 sweep over the #5 seeded Spring Grove Lions Thursday night in Harmony.

The Chatfield Gophers were able to hold on in each set to get a 3-0 sweep over Kingsland Monday night in Chatfield on FUN 104.3.

It was a match of back-and-forth action. Both teams determined to come out the winner in a thrilling five-set match but it was the Burros who made the plays late to get the win.

Section 1 had been filled with talented volleyball teams all year long, and that remains true as we head into the final week or so of the season.
