COVID-19 is taking the blame once again for another fun, festive holiday event for families in Southeast Minnesota.  Zoodazzle at Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo in Byron is officially canceled for 2020.

Friends of Oxbow, also known as FOX, shared the following info on their Facebook page on December 1st:

Dear Oxbow Park Friends,
After much thought and consideration, it is with a heavy hearts that The Friends of Oxbow (FOX) announce the cancellation of Zoodazzle 2020. FOX worked hard to come up with an alternative fun, family event, but could not safely design an event that typically draws 5,000-8,000 people over two days. We are devastated to press pause on this holiday tradition as it is our biggest annual fundraiser for our beloved park and zoo.
🏅 If you collect our annual medallion ornament, please watch social media for opportunities to pick up your 2020 edition at the zoo.
So instead of dwelling on what could have been, we now look to the future. In the spring of 2021, Oxbow Park will begin the construction of the first phase of the new Nature Center. FOX will continue to be at the forefront of fundraising for the new exhibits and projects. We hope that you will join us by continuing to support us in our fundraising efforts to provide new exhibits, purchase new animals, and fund seasonal interns.
If you are in a position to give, please consider donating. Link in the comments below!
We wish you a safe and healthy holiday season,
The Friends of Oxbow Board

I know news of another thing being canceled brings the holiday spirit down a bit and is leaving many of us wondering what fun activities we can still do with our families this season.  If you are on the hunt, check out these fun activities that are still happening:
