Whalan Stand Still Parade Is This Weekend
This is not your ordinary parade. No, this is a stand still parade. You are probably wondering:
"Luke, what is a stand still parade?"
Well, if you are familiar with southeast Minnesota, you are probably familiar with this parade that does not move. So, if you want to check the whole thing out, you have to move yourself!
It is an awesome concept, and the small town of Wahlan is the home to such a unique event. The Wahlan Stand Still Parade takes place on Saturday, May 20th, and there is plenty of games and events happening in Wahlan including:
10:00am - 11:30am - Zumbrota Community Band by the gazebo
10:00am - 11:00am - Walter Bradley and Steve Arnold on Main Street
11:00am - 12:00pm - The Stand Still Parade on Main Street
11:00am - 12:00pm - Lanesboro Marching band in Parade
12:00pm - 3:00pm - Rutabaga Brothers on the Main Stage
10:00am - 3:00pm - Artists, Crafters, Demonstrators and Food
I have never heard of anything like this before, but what a cool idea! If you really like one of the floats, or some of the entertainment you can check it out longer! Also, if one of the floats doesn't fit your fancy as much you don't have to spend as much time there.
If you have time Saturday, you have to check out Wahlan's Stand Still Parade!
