Onamia, MN (KROC AM News) - Two people were seriously hurt early Friday after being struck by a pickup truck while walking near a Minnesota casino.

The incident happened around 1:15 am in front of the Grand Casino Mille Lacs in central Minnesota.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the victims were walking “through the crosswalk” on Highway 169 when they were hit.

They were identified as 36-year-old Joseph Nickaboine and 18-year-old Kiala Ryle, both from Onamia. The State Patrol described their injuries as “life-threatening.”

The truck that hit them was driven by 58-year-old Ronald Sternquist of Palisade, Minnesota.
