Zumbrota Police issued a request for public assistance after responding to the vehicle-home collision around 2:30 Thursday morning.

A news release issued by the Zumbrota Police Department says the vehicle-house collision happened shortly after 2:30 a.m.

MnDOT says the work is being delayed because of the bitterly cold conditions forecast for next week.

The combination of a light snowfall and sub-zero temperatures overnight caused slippery conditions on the highway.

Preliminary information indicates the highway had snow and ice on it at the time of the deadly accident.
