Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -Some Rochester construction workers pitched in Thursday to help clear an accident scene, which included a few tons of garbage.

Police Capt. Casey Moilanen says the driver of a Sunshine Sanitation garbage truck was apparently going a bit too fast while turning south onto West Circle Dr. from Valleyhigh Rd NW around 3:00 pm. The truck tipped onto its side and slid through the median.

The 63-year-old Stewartville man driving the truck was partially ejected and suffered a head injury. Moilanen says the injury was non-life-threatening and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Moilanen says half the garbage in the truck had to be removed so the rig could be uprighted. Several employees of SL Contracting who were working nearby witnessed the accident and helped unload the garbage. After the truck was back on its wheels, they helped get the garbage off the road.
