Target, a Minnesota-based company, has announced that two of their locations will close early next year, according to Fox 9.

Lucky for us here in Southeast Minnesota we will not be affected. The Target cooperation does not take it lightly to close any stores, but early next year a Target in Hastings and Fergus Falls will close. The employees of the two stores are able to transfer to a different store.

Here is what a Target spokesperson said to Fox 9:

"We have a rigorous process in place to evaluate the performance of every store on an annual basis, closing or relocating underperforming locations as needed," said Erin Conroy, a Target spokesperson. "Typically, a store is closed as a result of seeing several years of decreasing profitability. These decisions are not made lightly."

This year, Target will close 32 stores, which may seem like a lot, but it still remains strong in Minnesota.
