Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Two drivers were ticketed by Minnesota State Troopers after they were busted for traveling over 100 mph in the Rochester area Wednesday.

The first citation was issued to 19-year-old Kalin Ngo or Chicago. The citation indicates a state trooper parked in the median on Hwy. 52 near Oronoco Township clocked the young southbound driver at 105 mph in the 65 mph zone shortly before 2 a.m.

Ngo told the trooper she had just come from the airport and was attempting to pass a vehicle that was traveling in the right lane. She was driving a Toyota Prius. 

The second citation was issued to a Lanesboro man traveling at 117 mph in Rochester. The citation indicates a trooper observed the vehicle enter Hwy. 52 south from 55th St. Northwest shortly before 6 p.m.

The trooper was also heading south as the Dodge Charger entered the freeway at a high rate of speed. The 117 mph reading came up when the vehicle merged into the left lane in the 60 mph zone.

The trooper stopped the vehicle in the area of the 19th St. Northwest ramp. The driver, identified as 33-year-old Cory Draper did not argue with the trooper and blamed his high speed on road rage induced by an incident at the top of the 55th St. Northwest ramp.
