An Olmsted County patrol deputy clocked a car at 96 mph as it sped past her on Highway 52 south of Oronoco just after midnight. She caught up with the vehicle more than a mile away and determined the driver was “obviously under the influence.”

The driver was identified as 26-year-old Blaine Akerson, who refused to take a breath or blood test. He reportedly told a deputy he would “get another car” and it would “take them two years to catch him again.” He was driving with a revoked license and had no proof of insurance on the car.

Court records show Akerson has been convicted of four driving after revocation and two DWI cases since 2014.
