Shania Twain Hints at a Return to Touring
In 2015, Shania Twain embarked on her Rock This Country Tour, following an 11-year hiatus from the road. At the time, the country star indicated that the trek would be her last -- but in a new interview, Twain says that she's reconsidering.
"I felt like at that time maybe that was all I had left in me. I really felt that way," Twain tells the Press-Enterprise, "but I was so energized by the tour and by the fans. For the first time in my career, I really felt like it was easier and the fans really gave me more than ever before for some reason."
Twain notes that, now, she feels as though her "final" tour "kind of ended too soon," as it was routed around her son's school schedule. He's her priority, but once he needs less of Twain's time, she'll likely hit the road again.
Shania Twain's Best Live Shots
"I think as he gets older I will pick up where I left off," Twain says, "and carry on and do more at some point."
From 2012 through 2014, Twain starred in a Las Vegas residency. Footage from her shows was released in 2015 as a live CD / DVD, Shania: Still the One Live From Vegas -- Twain's first release since a 2004 greatest hits project.
Twain has been working on a new album, and is now promising that it will be out in the fall of 2017. The Press-Enterprise hints that fans may get to hear some of Twain's new music during her set at the 2017 Stagecoach Country Musical Festival.
