The defense of Rushford-Peterson had a great start, and they were able to turn defense into offense early in the game. The Trojans took down the Southland Rebels 73-40 on Cool 104.

Holding on to a 20-14 lead, the Rushford-Peterson Trojans were able to connect on a couple of 3s and utilized a 1-2-2 full-court press to push the lead back up to 18 before halftime, 38-20.

The Trojans came out firing in the first half, jumping out to an 18-5 lead. Southland did not let that phase them, as they started to chip away at the lead. The Rebels tightened things up defensively, and then guards for Southland were able to attack the basket to trim the lead down to 20-14. Jared Landherr was a big reason for the Rebels sucess in the middle of the first half, scoring nine points.

The Trojans came out fast again to start the second half, forcing turnovers and working the offensive glass. Southland was just unable to fight there way back into this one. Rushford-Peterson turned it on out of the gate, increasing their lead to 48-24 in a hurry.

The Trojans were able to ride out the solid play to a 73-40 victory at Southland High School. Second chance points and turnovers were the keys for the Trojans, as they dominated those facets of the game. Southland did a good job of getting to the rim, but they just couldn't overcome the turnovers.

Landdherr finsihed with 18 points, while Jacob Paulson had 17 for Rushford-Peterson. Ben Ansell and Dawson Dahl finished with 10 points each.
