Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man was shot in the chest in a shooting that took place Wednesday night in the hallway of a southeast apartment building.

At last report, he was in critical condition and it’s not known when police investigators will be able to interview him.

Police Capt. Casey Moilanen says officers were called to the 3rd floor of the 1430 building at Meadow Park Apartments around 9:45 PM by a female who found the victim in the hallway where the shooting took place.

Moilanen says the victim was shot “multiple times. “

Moilanen says it does not appear the shooting was random and it’s not known if the shooter was alone. He says it’s believed the shooter and victim knew each other.

Moilanen says this is “an active investigation” and investigators spent several hours at the scene. He says the 24-year-old victim is a Rochester resident but does not live at the apartment complex where he was shot.
