Rochester Fire Team Assists with Anhydrous Leak in Le Roy
Le Roy, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester Fire Dept’s Chemical Assessment team was sent to Le Roy on Tuesday after a leak involving liquid anhydrous ammonia was reported.
The call for assistance came in around 3 p.m.
Some CHS workers were repairing a storage tank in the Mower County town when it began leaking.
A fire department spokesman says about 10 people were evacuated as a precaution. The Rochester team conducted air monitoring in the area and also checked the interior of the evacuated houses to make sure it was safe to return.
No injuries were reported.
Le Roy is about 40 miles south of Rochester.
