Rochester Drug Suspect Now Facing Loss Of $55,000 In Cash
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A recent drug bust in Rochester has led to more troubles for the suspect.
Authorities arrested 32-year-old Roberto Torres Nieves after a Valentine’s Day search of his home turned up 7.5 pounds of cocaine.
Other evidence of drug dealing was found in the home located at 3783 Kenosha Dr. NW.
Nieves was there during the search and according to the criminal complaint, reportedly “acknowledged that he was going to be in trouble.” Nieves was charged with 2 felony drug charges and his bail was set at $250,000, which he posted.

He is now facing a civil case connected to the drug bust. During the search, officers also seized $55,000 in cash, a gold watch and jewelry.
The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office has filed a court petition that seeks to retain possession of the cash and jewelry. A forfeiture petition has been filed in Olmsted County Court based on state seizure laws.
An evidentiary hearing in the criminal case is scheduled for May 5th.
