Rochester Declares Snow Emergency
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The city of Rochester has declared a snow emergency that will be in effect through midnight Sunday.
This means parking will be restricted on all city streets during the duration of the emergency.
Vehicles parked on streets during the restricted parking hours may be ticketed and towed. Officials advise residents to park vehicles somewhere other than the street Friday and Saturday. Narrow streets and parked vehicles make it difficult for plows and emergency vehicles to maneuver. If you cannot find off-street parking on residential streets, park on the odd side of the street Friday and the even side on Saturday.
Snow removal from the downtown business district will impact parking Friday through Monday. City crews will be removing snow Sunday night into Monday morning from downtown area streets. All vehicles in violation will be ticketed and towed.
Byron and Stewartville have also declared a snow emergency that will be in effect through noon Saturday. This means there will be no street parking during the emergency.
