Flu Remains Widespread in Minnesota
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The flu season is still going strong in Minnesota.
The weekly update on influenza activity from the Minnesota Department of Health continues to rate it was “widespread.” The department reported the number of flu-related hospitalizations dropped 50 percent last week, and the number of outbreaks reported by schools from 50 to 40, but there was an increase in outbreaks at nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.
The report also says the percentage of positive results on samples submitted for lab testing jumped from 17 percent to almost 25 percent.
