Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Olmsted County deputy is recovering at home from injuries she received after being pushed down some stairs during an incident in Stewartville.

The deputy stopped a motorist in the 400 block of 5th Ave SE Saturday morning after noticing the license plate of his car was expired.

The driver got out and began walking to a nearby house, ignoring orders from the deputy to stop. As the man began entering the home, she told him again to stop or she would use her taser. The man dared her to use the taser and she did. But the man pulled out the probes and continued into the house.

The deputy tried to prevent him from entering and he pushed her down the basement stairs where she landed on her face on the concrete floor. She was taken to St. Marys Hospital where she was treated for a cut on her lip. She also complained of a severe headache and head and neck injuries.

The man fled the home and numerous other officers responded to the deputy’s call for assistance. The man was arrested a few hours later when he returned to the home. Facing felony assault and other charges is 20-year-old Tyler Noreen of Brook Park.
