St Paul, MN (KROC AM News) - Minnesota’s state-run health insurance exchange began its enrollment period Thursday morning for Minnesotans seeking coverage next year.

Officials say as of late afternoon, “MNsure.org received over 37,000 visits, had over 6,800 visits to the plan comparison tool and the Contact Center fielded over 2,400 calls. Call wait times in the Contact Center continued to average 1 second.”

MNsure says individuals earning up to $48,560 a year, or a family of four earning up to $100,400 a year, could qualify for federal tax credits. More information can be found at mnsure.org.

For those who want coverage to begin January 1, enrollment must be completed by Dec 15. Open enrollment runs until January 13.

MNsure's online help tool can be used to check the status of an enrollment or a submitted change, in addition to providing assistance with technical issues and password resets.

“We recommend Minnesotans visit MNsure.org to find the right plan for them and their families,” said MNsure CEO Nate Clark. “MNsure is the only place for Minnesotans to tap into tax credits that could save them thousands.”

Over 480,000 Minnesotans accessed coverage through MNsure during the 2018 plan year.
