Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota man will spend the next 10 years in federal prison for a child pornography conviction.

The US Attorney for Minnesota says 28-year-old Justin Mitchell is a registered sex offender and was found in possession of "thousands of images and videos of child sexual abuse" on two different occasions. according to court records, the White Bear Lake man was on supervision for a previous child pornography conviction in Ramsey County when he was caught with the illegal materials in August 2019 and January of this year.

Mitchell entered guilty pleas to the federal charges in June. In addition to the prison sentence, he will be on supervised release for 15 years after his discharge from prison and has been ordered to pay a total of $11,000 in restitution and contributions to a victim assistance fund.
