N. Mankato, MN (KROC AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting the state's first fatal motorcycle accident of the year.

The State Patrol says the victim was a North Mankato man.

He was driving on Highway 169 in N. Mankato around 3:30 pm Tuesday when he lost control and crashed.

The man was identified as 48-year-old Kent Johnston.  He died at the scene.

State Patrol Sgt Troy Christianson confirmed, "That was the first MC fatal crash" of the year.
