As a lifetime athlete, an accident-prone one I might add, I truly appreciate this new option. While it is designed for school-aged athletes (middle school, high school, and college), it's still an awesome move, in my opinion. Your kiddo gets hurt in a Friday night game, you no longer have to wait until Monday to see a doctor. A tweaked ankle during a weekend tourney? No need to go to the ER.

Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine is offering a temporary walk-in Saturday morning injury clinic to all Rochester area athletes. The clinic will be manned by two physicians, a physical therapist, and an athletic trainer. They will be able to provide anything from X-rays, splinting, bracing, crutch instruction, concussion evaluation and treatment, and rehabilitation.

The clinic will be open every Saturday beginning September 7th and ending October 12th on the third floor of the Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center. They will be accepting patients from 8a - noon. Appointments are preferred, but not required.
