Facebook has ditched their classic blue logo in an effort to be more transparent. The social media giant says they want users to be fully aware that other apps they use like Instagram and What's App are owned by Facebook.

The news was shared on Facebook's News Room site: "Today, we’re updating our company branding to be clearer about the products that come from Facebook. We’re introducing a new company logo and further distinguishing the Facebook company from the Facebook app, which will keep its own branding."

I applaud the effort to be more transparent, but I hope they didn't pay much for the graphic design. Users probably won't notice the chance on the Facebook app but will see the new logo on the company's other apps.
