The Fillmore Central Falcons led by as many as 19 in the Girls Section 1A Semifinal, but a big push from the Superlarks in the second half pushed the lead down to as little as one. The Falcons were able to hold on a secure a 43-41 win at the Mayo Civic Auditorium,

The #2 seeded Falcons were riding their defense in the early going, forcing 21 Grand Meadow turnovers in the first half and the Falcons led 25-10 at the break. Emma Breitsprecher had seven points in the half, and a balanced offensive attack along with strong team defense led the way.

The Fillmore Central extended that lead to as many as 19 in the second half, but the Superlarks were not going away quietly.

The shots started to fall in the second half for Grand Meadow as Rylee Groom, Isabelle Olson and Riley Queensland scored some huge points and the lead was cut to seven, 37-30 with three and a half minutes to go.

Fillmore Central got the lead back up to 10 after Kandace Sikkink hit a big shot, but the Superlarks answered again, and cut the lead down to one, 42-41, with 24 seconds to go. After the Falcons connected once again at the free-throw line, the Superlarks had a chance on the inbound to get a shot off, but the Falcons defense stood tall and forced a turnover at the buzzer to secure the 43-41 win.

Sikkink led the way with 12 points, while Kassidy Broadwater finished with 11. Queensland paced Grand Meadow with 15, while Olson had 11.

With the win, Fillmore Central advances to the Section 1A Final Thursday night at 6 pm, that game will be broadcasted on 103.1 KFIL.
