Worker Admits Stealing From Residents Of Rochester Nursing Home
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A woman who was employed as a program supervisor at a Rochester assisted living center has been charged with stealing money from its residents last year.
The criminal complaint against 26-year-old Chelsey Struckmann of Grand Meadow was filed Wednesday, charging her with financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult.
The complaint says the four victims in the case are vulnerable adults and Struckmann served as their "rep payee" and had access to their financial accounts.
Struckmann’s supervisor told police “that she was conducting an audit of Victims' bank statements and balance sheets when she observed discrepancies indicating all four Victims had money missing.”
During an interview with police investigators, Struckmann “admitted using Victims' financial information to conduct fraudulent transactions and stealing Victims' money.” The money was taken between November 2020 and March 2021. It totaled $6500.
Struckman has been ordered to appear in court next month for arraignment.
