Stewartville, MN (KROC AM News) - A California man is expected to face criminal charges for causing a crash involving a school bus in rural Olmsted County.

The bus was letting off students on a rural road near Stewartville around 1:00 pm Friday when the accident happened.

The Sheriff’s Office says the California man was driving a semi-truck and was traveling at 50-60 mph when he crashed into a pickup truck that had stopped behind the bus.

The pickup truck ended up in a ditch and the semi-truck jackknifed after clipping the front side of the bus.

The pickup was driven by 37-year-old Jeffrey Hyke of Racine. He was not injured.
