The Fillmore Central Falcons turned up the defense in their 55-19 win over Rushford-Peterson Tuesday night in Harmony.

The Falcons and Trojans traded early buckets, but then the Falcons were able to start forcing turnovers and turning them into buckets. A 19-4 run to end the first half was the big difference-maker in the game for Fillmore Central to lead 30-11 at the break.

Kandace Sikkink led the way in the first half for Fillmore Central with 12 points, while Kassidy Broadwater did a great job of facilitating the offense in transition to help the Falcons control the first half.

Rushford-Peterson did a great job moving the basketball once they got into their half-court offense. They were able to move the basketball around and get good looks, but turnovers were in issue when trying to break the full-court pressure from the Falcons.

Sikkink finished with 19 points to lead the way for Fillmore Central while Emma Breitsprecher added 6 and Broadwater 8. The Trojans were led by Alora Wilkemeyer and Avalon Jacobson who both finished with four points.

The Falcons moved to 3-0 with the win and the Trojans fell to 0-2.
