This one was a fun one to end the night. Early on, it was back and forth, with LeRoy-Ostrander changing the lead for the second time after 2 of the first three Cardinals shots from the field were from beyond the arc, one by Seth Royston, one Zach Hanson. Early foul trouble sent Mabel-Canton senior Wayne Ross to the bench for much of the first half and much of the night overall. Blake Henry also picked up a couple early fouls. The sophomore center still scored 11 points in the first half, a number of those buckets through offensive rebounds and put-backs.

As it was, there were 7 lead changes before the home Cougars went on a 7-0 run. Chipping away again were the Cardinals, going inside LeRoy-Ostrander went on a 6-0 to take the lead back 28-27. The Cougars answered back with a bucket before the half to give the game its 9th lead change and the Cougars the 29-28 halftime lead.

After the M-C cheerleaders entertained the crowd at halftime, the boys entertained with a 6-0 run out of the break to open the lead to 35-28. The Cougars went on another 6-0 run to lead 41-30, and led 52-34 at one point. Then a 7-0 run and the Cardinals were back in it. Zach Hanson spotted up 3 times for 3's, and we had ourselves a ballgame after a 13-1 run brought it back to an 8-point game. More battling and, with the Cougars being imperfect from the charity stripe, LeRoy-Ostrander got it down to a 58-54 game!

At that point, Riley Olson (4 points, a couple blocked shots) and Sean Lohuis had fouled out. With time running down and LeRoy-Ostrander looking to foul again, Brenden Kerns got pushed in the back so he got two free throws and the Cougars got to inbound the ball back in. Kerns made one of those free throws for a five-point lead before the Cougars were fouled again. The first was good for a 60-54 lead, and the second was no good but Mabel-Canton got the offensive rebound, and it was all over but a Carter Johnson layup as time expired. The Cougars completed the KFIL doubleheader sweep with the 60-56 win.

KFIL Subway Player of the Game for LeRoy-Ostrander was Sean Lohuis. The Cardinal junior scored a dozen points, 6 in each half for the visitors.

KFIL Subway Player of the Game for the Mabel-Canton Cougars was sophomore Blake Henry. Blake was more than active enough on the offensive glass and maybe a little too aggressive early on with the fouls, but impacted the game for 19 points and the team victory.
