The Chatfield Gophers were able to hold on in each set to get a 3-0 sweep over Kingsland Monday night in Chatfield on FUN 104.3.

The Gophers jumped out to big leads in the first and second set to help them control each set, but the Knights were never going away quietly. The difference was the play early in each set, as the Gophers were able to build a lead and take home the first two sets 25-18 and 25-21.

The Knights struggled out of the gate in each set but were able to put somethings together to get things going let in the set to close the gap. They had a lot of open doors but just couldn't get points to go their way late.

The Knights played much better out of the gate in set three, but the Gophers got two late kills fro Zayda Priebe to help seal the deal and close out the 32-0 sweep with a 25-23 win in set three.

Ellie Buchholtz was great with 17 kills to lead Kingsland. Chatfield was led by Paige Erickson added six, Priebe six and McKenna Daniels with six.

The Gophers will take on Caledonia in the Section 1A East Subsection Quarterfinals Thursday night.
