Bats Come Alive In Chatfield’s Win Over St. Charles
The Chatfield Gophers were coming off a tough 1-0 to Cotter, and the Saints were coming off a big 10-6 win over Plainview-Elgin-Millville. The Chatfield bats were able to break out of the funk and get a 15-0 win.
It all started with a solo shot from Belle Berg to get things going, and then the Gophers tacked on five runs in the second inning that started with a solo homer from Peyton Berg, and was added on by RBI hits from Belle Berg and Lexi Chase.
The Gophers got six more in the third and another three in the fourth to get the win.
The Saints struggled to get things going against Chase, as they registered just one hit against her when Reagan Schweitzer hit a single in the third. Chase struck out three in her three innings of work. Carlie Berge pitched the fourth and sent them down in order.
With the win, the Gophers advanced to take on Byron in the Section 1AA Final Four which will be in Austin on Tuesday at 5pm. You'll be able to hear the game on Cool 104.
