Bears are making their way into our area, again. We told you about the bear sighting in Montgomery earlier this month, now a black bear was spotted in Burnsville! The best part about this bear sighting is that the authorities were like, just leave it alone.

The City of Burnsville posted the photos to it's Facebook page yesterday. Also in the post was this quote.

"This message is not intended to cause alarm, as the bear did not seem to be agitated or aggressive - however, people in the area are asked to be vigilant of their surroundings, and not leave pets or small children unattended."

This is the second bear sighting in our area over the last 20 days. The Minnesota DNR says that Minnesota’s black bear range has been slowly expanding southward and westward from a large swath cutting diagonally and down from northwestern Minnesota to northeast of the Twin Cities.

My favorite part of the post from the City of Burnsville was this:

"Anyone who notices the bear turning ornery should call 911, the statement continued."

In case you were wondering the Star Tribune indicated that the bear was last seen entering a heavily wooded area about 5:30 a.m.

You can track bears outside their normal range and help the DNR out here!
