St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - A statewide alert has been issued for a missing child from South Carolina who may be in Minnesota. The alert issued by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is for 2-year-old Dakota Ray of Camden, South Carolina, where police believe she was taken by non-custodial parents, 44-year-old William and 36-year-old Jessica Ray.

South Carolina officials say the child was removed from the couple for safety reasons. A statement from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children indicates Police in Camden described the couple as heavy methamphetamine users.

The BCA says there was a spotting of the child and her parents at a gas station in Marshall on Monday and investigators believe they may still be in southern Minnesota. They were traveling in a gold or beige 1996 Ford Aerostar
