Odd Recall of 3 Million+ Medicine Bottles in Minnesota Due to Eye Injury
Before you open up that bottle of medicine that is supposed to help you stay healthy, pause because when you open it, the cap could fly up in your face and cause an eye injury. #TrueStory Over 3.7 million bottles of over-the-counter medicines have been recalled in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin as a result.

Below is information from the Consumer Product Safety Commission regarding the recall:
Total Number of Products Recalled: About 3.74 million
Reason for the Recall: As people are opening up the product for the first time, pressure that has built up in the bottle may cause the cap and seal to pop off in a forceful way, which could lead to injuries. 70 reports of the cap or seal popping off the bottles have been made. 18 of those have caused minor injuries and there was one report of an eye injury that needed medical attention.
Description of Product Recalled: Airborne Gummies bottles that have 63 and 75 gummies inside are part of this recall. The flavors that are part of the recall include blueberry pomegranate, orange, and assorted fruit flavors.
UPC Numbers and Lot codes: You can find the lot codes and expiration dates on the bottom of the bottle. The UPC number can be found on the product label. See the full list of products recalled ad the Consumer Product Safety Commission website here.
When and Where the Product Was Sold: The products that are part of the recall were sold between $18 and $33 between May 2020 through February 2022 at the following places:
- Sam’s Club
- BJ’s Wholesale Club
- and other stores nationwide
How to receive a refund: If you have any of these products and have not opened them, do not attempt to use the product or open the container.
