How You Can Help A 17-Year-Old Still In Coma After Terrible Car Accident
On May 15th, we shared a story about an accident where a 17-year-old girl, Megan Erie, was injured. Megan was a passenger in a car that collided with a pickup truck the day before and she has been hospitalized ever since due to the injuries from that accident. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family and Megan with the costs of her medical care.
A lot of stories come across my newsfeed but when I saw this one, I recognized the last name immediately. Back in my daycare days, I took care of some adorable kiddos with the last name of “Erie” and knew that there had to be a connection. The little guys that I knew when they were babies have grown up a lot and have been visiting their relative and praying for her...but they know she is a fighter.
A GoFundMe page has been sent up for Megan and her family as they fight with her during her recovery. Below is the info that is shared on her page:
Megan Erie, 17, was in a terrible car accident with her friend this past Monday (5/14/18). Megan was airlifted to St Mary’s Hospital and is being treated for life-threatening injuries. Megan is in a coma at the moment with severe neck injuries, brain swelling, fractured skull, broken ribs and a lacerated spleen. She was in surgery to repair her spleen and responded to pain, which is a hopeful sign. This money you will be donating will help with Megan’s medical bills as well as help her family. Megan is such a beautiful soul and every time she went into a room it would light up. She and her family need your help while they are going on this long recovery journey. Your donations are greatly appreciated.
Check out the GoFundMe page for Megan and if you can, send something to the page!
