Jimmie Rogers, the first person inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, died at New York's Taft Hotel of a massive hemorrhage.  Rogers had suffered from tuberculosis.

Happy birthday to Hank Williams, Jr., born in 1949 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

1992  "Brand New Man" is Brooks and Dunn's first gold album.

#1 on the country Billboard chart in 2007 is Billy Currington's "Good Directions".
