"The Storyteller", Tom T. Hall, was born this date in 1936 in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Mirriam Johnson, known professionally as Jessi Colter, was born in 1943 in Phoenix.  Jessi's best known song is "I'm Not Lisa".

2005  Garth  Brooks proposed to Trisha Yearwood at the Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, California before more than 7,000 fans.

2005  Carrie Underwood won "American Idol".  And in 2011, Scotty McCreery won the same title.
