Fillmore County Eagles Headed to State

Here’s exciting news!  The Fillmore County Eagles basketball team is headed to State! This great group of athletes will be playing in the Special Olympics Minnesota State Basketball Tournament at St. Thomas University March 28 and 29.  Good luck, guys! In 1983, “Swingin’” by John Anderson hit #1 on the Billboard country chart, and in 2005, “That’s What I Love About Sunday” by Craig Morgan reached #1 on the Billboard chart.

1963  Johnny Cash recorded his epic hit "Ring of Fire"  with Columbia

1971   "Rose Garden" by Lynn Anderson earned her only gold album of her career

1974  The Academy of Country Music awarded Charlie Rich with Top Male Vocalist, Single Record, Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Behind Closed Doors"

1981   Just 15 days after he earned a gold single, "Drivin' My Life Away" earned Eddie Rabbitt his second gold single

And in 2006, Country Music Hall of Fame member Buck Owens died in  his sleep at his Bakersfield home
