May 2 Baseball History
1909 Honus Wagner steals his way around the bases in a game against the Cubs. It was the fourth time Wagner stole his way around the bases.
Don Newcombe pitches a shut-out in his first major league start in 1949.
May 3 Baseball History
Fergie Jenkins, Rangers' pitcher, beat the Orioles 3-2, in 1980. This marked 100 wins for Jenkins in each league; the fourth pitcher to reach that milestone. He won 149 games in the National League before moving to the American League in 1974.
In 1992 at age 25, Baltimore pitcher Gregg Olson, became the youngest pitcher to have 100 saves.
