Catch the Minnesota Twins against Chicago tonight on KFIL at 6:30!  Baseball history books for today are packed with trivia.  Here's a few tidbits I wanted to pass along.

Babe Ruth hit his first home run as a Yankee in 1920.

In 1926, 19-year old Satchel Paige made his Negro Southern League debut.  Paige pitched Chattanooga to a 5-4 victory over Birmingham.

Mickey Mantle, Yankees newbie, hit his first major league home run in 1951 in a game against the White Sox.

1968 - John Boozer of the Phillies was ejected by umpire Ed Vargo for throwing spitballs during warm-up.  This is only the second time a pitcher was ejected from a game for throwing spitballs.

In 1991, Rickey Henderson became baseball's stolen base leader with 939.  In 1992, Rickey surpassed his own record and obtained his 1,000 career steal.
