Crookston, MN (KROC AM News) - A young girl was seriously hurt Monday evening after she was struck by a semi-truck in northwest Minnesota.

The accident happened in Crookston around 6:00 pm.

The State Patrol says the driver of the truck was making a turn from Highway 2  onto North Broadway when his rig struck the 10-year-old girl who was riding a bicycle on a sidewalk.

The Crookston girl was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her name has not been released.

The driver of the truck was identified as 73-year-old Duane Schouveiller of Mahnomen.
