Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Byron woman who was recently accused of defrauding the Olmsted County jail through a forged check has been ordered to serve a 95-month prison sentence for a previous conviction.

An Olmsted County judge yesterday revoked 33-year-old Chrysten Doney's probation and executed a nearly eight-year prison term that was stayed when she was convicted of a first-degree drug charge in February of last year. The judge also imposed a couple of shorter and concurrent prison sentences for another previous felony drug conviction, an earlier conviction for check forgery, and a felony financial fraud charge involving a credit card transaction. In all of those cases, Doney was given credit for the time she had served in jail and was placed on probation.

Doney was an inmate of the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center when she allegedly deposited a forged check for more than $400 into her inmate account at the jail last month. When he reported the allegations last week, Sheriff's Captain Jim Schuller indicated the County was unable to recoup the lost funds because Doney had quickly spent the money to make purchases of various products available to inmates.
