If you have ever flown, this video is a must see. What appears to be a passenger plane is flying over Anchorage, Alaska in during a lightning storm when all of a sudden it's hit. This had to have scared some people on the plane.

The guy who caught the video didn't know what he had until he "went back and looked at it" according to KTVA news. While catching it on video is unique, lightning hitting planes isn't. According to Scientific American:

It is estimated that on average, each airplane in the U.S. commercial fleet is struck lightly by lightning more than once each year. In fact, aircraft often trigger lightning when flying through a heavily charged region of a cloud. - ScientificAmerican.com

If I was on this plane there would have been another smell other than burnt/super-conducted metal lingering in the air.
