Despite making a name for himself singing songs about heartbreak, it looks like Tyler Farr is very happy with his own love life. The 31-year-old singer  popped the question to his girlfriend, Hannah Freeman, on Sunday (May 10) at country's "Mother Church," the Ryman Auditorium.

"Proud to say I'm engaged to my best friend and the most amazing woman I've ever known," he captioned a photo on Instagram.

Adds Farr in a press release, "Yes I'm a sucker for heartbreak songs. But with every heartache you learn, and that coincides with my music career; which all the times and trials led me to find my best friend, a woman that truly makes me a better person. And I am now so very blessed and proud to call her my fiancée."

Farr's Instagram account is filled with adorable photos of the "A Guy Walks Into a Bar" hitmaker and his significant other. From photos of the two dressed to the nines for a wedding to a cute birthday gift from Freeman, it's obvious that Farr is quite happy with his beloved girl. Although he told Taste of Country at the 2015 ACMs that he didn't have any immediate plans to settle down, it looks like he's changed his mind.

“Truly the best moment of my life! And I honestly couldn't think of a better church than the mother church of country music," he says.

Farr's proposal comes mere weeks after the release of his sophomore album, Suffer in Peace, which debuted on April 28.

“I was more excited to make this second album because, from my freshman album to my sophomore album, the last year and a half, I’ve been able to grow so much as an artist and really hone in on who I am as an artist,” he shares. “I think you just know yourself a lot better and know what you want to say.”

The record earned a spot in the Top 5 on both the Billboard Country Albums and Top 200 charts in its debut week, making Farr the first male country solo artist in a decade to have both of his first two albums debut in the Top 5 of the Top 200. And while it's an impressive feat, it's safe to guess that accomplishment is nothing compared to Farr's excitement over his new engagement.
