Country Music History May 10
Wishing our KFIL fans a blessed Sunday and Mother's Day.
How fitting for Mother's Day! In 1909 Mother Maybelle Carter was born in Nickelsville, Virginia. She was instrumental in forming the Carter Family, a pioneer act in country music.
1975 "She's Actin' Single (I'm Drinkin' Doubles) becomes Gary Stewart's only #1 single on the Billboard charts.
1984 "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood is released by MCA.
2008 Carrie Underwood is inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
