The Rushford-Peterson Trojans played a 3:00 game on KVGO as well, defeating Schaeffer Academy 19-1 in 5 innings. R-P will be playing in Winona again late Monday afternoon.

Rushford-Peterson was again the visiting team on the scoreboard against Schaeffer Academy. With one out, Carter Weidemann hit a triple to right. The next batter was retired to make it two out and one on for the Trojans. Then Ethan Anderson walked. Dawson Dahl delivered a hit. 1-0 Trojans. Shawn Marg followed with a hit. Nolan Mueller got the RBI on a bases loaded walk. Dawson Dahl scampered home on a wild pitch. 3-0. Sam Schwendinger walked. Payton Hahn walked with the bases loaded. 4-0. Back to the top of the order, Ben Ansell found some green in the outfield. His double drove in Nolan Mueller and Sam Schwendinger to make the score 6-0. Carter Weidemann plated Hahn to make the score 7-0. Then Ben Ansell came in on a tough ground ball. The score was 8-0 before Schaeffer Academy came to bat!

A little early struggles with a hit, wild pitch, and hit batter, but the defense helped and Ansell found his groove to retire the Lions in the first.

Back to the bats, R-P’s Dawson Dahl, Shawn Marg, and Nolan Mueller got consecutive hits to lead it off. All three came in to score in the inning to make the score 11-0.

Schaeffer Academy got the leadoff man on in the 2nd. Jared Lowe got a base hit, was advanced to second, got to third on a wild pitch, then Lowe sprinted down the line on another wild pitch to score the run. That was all in that inning, and the score was 11-1 R-P.
