Virginia, MN (KROC-AM News) - A trial date has been set in the case of a Minnesota woman charged in a particularly monstrous child sex abuse case.

36-year-old Daisy Joy Buley today entered not guilty pleas to charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and first-degree aggravated sex trafficking involving her own daughter. The Ely woman was arrested in August after her now teenage daughter met with investigators and told them about years of sexual abuse allegedly committed by multiple men in exchange for payments to her mother of cash and drugs.

The victim told investigators the sexual assaults began in 2013 when she was 11 years old and continued until she was 13. She provided details about at least 7 incidents during which Buley would drive her to different residences where she was physically restrained and raped by different men and sometimes more than one man. In each case, her mother was allegedly given “wads of cash” or bags filled with pills.

After the first sexual assault, the girl stated that she told her mother what had happened to her and said Buley responded by saying she knew about it already and “it was fine.” The girl also told investigators her mother threatened “to kill her if she fought back or told anyone what was happening.”

Buley is currently being held in the St. Louis County Jail on $100,000 conditional bail. The judge in the case, after deciding today there is enough evidence to support the charges, scheduled her trial to begin on January 25th.
