Last night, KFIL broadcasted the highly anticipated boy's basketball game between 7th-ranked St. Charles and 2nd-ranked Caledonia. We expected a lot of fireworks with both teams averaging 81+ points per game, but the shots weren't falling in the first half, as they went to the locker room tied at 21. The Saints started the second half strong, taking a 32-26 lead, but Caledonia answered with a 12-2 spurt to put them up for the remainder of the game. The final score was 62-51 in favor of the Warriors, handing the Saints their first loss of the season. There was a great crowd and a lot of fun, intense play on the floor!

The “Player of the Game” award for SC went to Luke Leistikow. He led them with 18 points, scoring the first 9 for the Saints in the second half, including 8 straight as St. Charles shot out of the gate.  Caledonia's answer was Owen King, who tallied 18 of his game-high 24 in the 2nd half. He was the P-O-G for the Warriors, hitting five "treys" in the contest while also dishing out six assits.

The “Game Ball” was awarded to Gavin Schroeder of Caledonia, who had 16 points- ten in the second half, and swatted away four Saints shot attempts.

Tonight's scheduled game (LeRoy-Ostrander at Mabel-Canton boy's) has been postponed. Make-up date to be announced. Tomorrow we have Coach's Corner at 10am on KFIL & online.
