Country Music History January 8

We are already through the first week of the new year.  Wasn't it just Christmas Eve?

On January 8, 1935, Elvis Presley was born in East Tupelo, Mississippi.  Not much more needs to be said about him - the name Elvis speaks for itself.

Back in 1928 in Tennessee, Luther Perkins was born.  Perkins was quite an accomplished guitarist, playing back-up for Johnny Cash.

Miss Reba McEntire received her first #1 singles status on the Billboard charts in 1983 for "Can't Even Get The Blues".

Katherine Blasingame and Eric Church wed in 2008 in North Carolina.
